If you can read and write to the card then the drivers are installed and working properly. Thanks for posting this it works great! Anyone know of an easy way to add an internal bluetooth? Maybe using ASUS BT-183 module?? |

To install bluetooth in the P1610 you need the bluetooth module (part# 88039253), the bluetooth coax cable (part# 34000717) and the FFC flatcable (part# 34000718)... Opening the P1610 to install the bluetooth board looks more complicated then it really is. You only need the Fujitsu bluetooth exchange manual, small tools, a bit of patience, a lot of caution and some bravery.
Here is some info on getting to the BT hardware.

The BT card is easy to add, but I believe the antenna is soldered to the system board. I would recommend a tiny USB BT dongle like the Mogo Dapter.

I read your article and was dealing with the same problem: My Ricoh Ricoh R5C8xx Flash Media Host Controller (822 -842) build in my ASUS Notebook Z92Vc had a SD-card driver version of V1.0.1.1 dated 16 Oct 2004 (Ricoh Version 2.0). The ASUS-site didn't mention any updates on this driver and were not even aware of a newer version that could cope with SD cards > 1 or 2GB. After installing this new Ricoh driver package V2.43.02 I was happy to see that the SD-driver had made some progress over the years with version 6.02.00.8 (13 Dec 2007)!! And it's working fine with my 4GB SD & SDHC cards. Thanks to this forum I can use the SD-card reader on my notebook again without using al kinds of interfacing (cables to my camera). |

I have that driver & noticed it worked /w my sdhc card.
I assumed that driver from the fuj site wouldn't support sdhc as the xp version didn't previously. |

I have been using a SDHC card for quite a while with my P1610, but the main problem is, the built in SD card reader is incredibly slow compared to an external USB on.

Just thought I'd add, my P1610 reads my 16GB SDHC card fine with Win7's default driver.

Does the 1620 use the same driver? I have confirmed that the driver loaded with my new 1620 does NOT support SDHC. The Fujitsu website says that it only has original release drivers for the "media slot" which is what I'm guessing is the SD slot. |

Windows update should find the new driver automatically. On win 7, I even received an update for support of (what I believe to be) SDXC format. The update description said it allows support for SD cards with capacity of 64GB or higher (SDHC is capped at 32GB).

I've been using SDHC cards for quite a while (1,5 year at least) with P1610, mostly for documents storage. If you don't need amazing perfs, I would recommend this site http://www.mymemory.co.uk/SDHC I bought 2 SDHC (Noname class 4 and kingston class 4) for my camera and the P1610, for about 20£ each. Prices went up a bit since then. they both work quite well, but I didn't even attempt to read videos from there. If needed I can bench them. |
